Everyone on the boat caught their limit. Must have been thousands of halibut down there.

My buddy Jack came down from Ohio. He can do all the freshwater fishing he wants up there. So we went off shore and landed this beauty. I'm pretty sure he was glad we went out that day. I know I am.

My pals told me I couldn't catch a fish in Alaska on a bobber. But I did. And it was on my birthday! That was so much fun. We were hungry too. We needed that fish.

Species

One of the best days fishing. Caught several bass of that size.

Species

It was fun catching fish up there. There is hardly anybody on that lake. I can't wait to go back again.

Another Lake Trout. We only kept one big fish. That fish fed us for several days. In a week we caught about 15 lake trout. We didn't count. We spent a lot of time cruising around the lake. It is much bigger in person than it appears on the map. If you get the chance, fish Lake Clark.

Species

The Grayling were all gathered up wherever a creek or river entered the lake. They have never seen a lure. One after another after another. The most fun was spotting the biggest one and targeting that fish, maneuvering the lure around the other fish. We would plan out the cast and the retrieve and do a play by play announcement.

Species

The fish in Lake Clark haven't seen lures. It's amazing to look down about 25 feet and see a lake trout, dangle something shiny in front of it and watch what happens. I'll post some pictures of grayling too. After 30 fish in a row we started yanking the spinner away from the smaller ones to get at the big ones. What a blast.

I was fishing for trout with a Gulp Minnow on a jig about 3 feet down from a bobber. But one small mouth after another took the bait instead.

There is something about that spot off the Alley. It holds Peacock bass. Up and down the canal it's mostly Largemouth. But that one spot it's all Peacocks.

Species

Fish on the first cast. A little bigger one on the 3rd cast. Then this one on the 5th cast. It was a good day.

Fishing by yourself can be challenging. When I got this fish close enough I tried to gaff it but the gaff was knocked out of my hand into the water and started floating away. I put the rod in a rod holder, with the fish still on the line and started swimming after my gaff. By the time I reached it and turned around to swim back, the boat was a long way from me. But, I made it back, reeled in the fish, got it in the box and started laughing my butt off because the only people who knew what had just happened were the people on a passing cruise ship that might have witnessed it.

Species

Back in 1975 the golf course lakes had some decent fish and you were allowed to fish in them. Now you need to be more stealthy.

Species

Everybody caught their limit.

Species

This walleye attached itself to my back, since I am a Walleye Magnet, and it took me 4 minutes to find a way to detach it. My pals didn't help, just laughed.
